Product Description
The NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator is the world's most uniquely designed system, where several important safety, quality and efficacy features are combined. With our unique 2-in-1 design, you can either use it as a NeilMed NasaBulb aspirator or as an effective Nasal-Oral suction device where parents can use suction force generated by the mouth similar to sucking through a straw. By using the NeilMed Naspira, you can quickly remove nasal mucus safely and effectively by creating a negative airflow of 5 to 10 liters or more per minute plus longer duration of suction, as opposed to simply using a bulb aspirator where the suction duration is less than half a second. In addition, the NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator features in-line disposable filters to protect the parent from contact with mucus. The one-way valve prevents a large volume of accidental air from the parent's mouth from blowing into the baby's nose and prevents pushing down of the mucus. Naspira Replacement Filters available separately.
Availabe at: WalMart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Toys R Us, Babies R Us and several other stores .

Hold baby in an upright to semi upright position or well secured in the arms and make sure that baby is comfortable. Place tip of the bulb into baby's nostril and suck very gently through mouth piece. The very gentle suction is sufficient. This is similar to gentle suction one uses to drink through the straw. If needed, you can always use more suction force. The mouth piece is a one way valve and will not allow you to blow into baby's nose and avoid blowing into the mouth piece. This protects baby from getting any air from a parent. A few drops of saline solution in each nostril will help loosen thick mucus before using NeilMed Oral Aspirator. The device is very effective and if there is any mucus in the nasal passage or nostril, it will come out very easily and get in the bulbous area during the suctioning. Repeat the previous steps in the same and/or the other nostril as necessary. Please follow the cleaning and disinfection protocol for baby's and your safety.

More effective than using a suction bulb for clearing out stuffy noses
I received a free NeliMed Naso-Oral Aspirator at a Mom's Meet Party.Having sick kids in the house is never fun! It’s never a matter of “if” they will get sick, but “when”. I had always heard of alternative methods to helps relieve your kids congestion and runny noses, but I almost always seemed to reach for conventional medicine and what I was familiar with. But boy was I missing out!! With our 16 month old grand-daughter living in our home, we have discovered new ways to handle her congestion and colds (which she seems to get often). When we left the hospital with her, we were provided with the traditional pink suction bulb. I have always struggled with using these suction bulbs as I have felt that they didn’t truly suction completely, and it was difficult to use inside our grand-daughters little nose.I really liked this NeilMed Nasal-Oral Aspirator and found it to be more effective in suctioning our grand-daughters stuffy, congested nose. Using this aspirator is simple, and the soft, silicon tip allows for it be used comfortably and I don’t have to worry about causing injury to our little one’s nose. In using the aspirator, parents like me can use suction force generated by the mouth to minimize and get rid of the congestion all together. The aspirator was easy to pull apart and clean, and I was able to sterilize it the same way I would when sterilizing bottles (by boiling in water). What a great invention, and perhaps they had an aspirator similar to this year ago. However, it had never occurred to me to find out or use anything other than a suction bulb! Had I known, I would have used this on my son who was extremely asthmatic as a baby and was constantly congested.

This thing is waaaaaaay better than the nose Frieda!
My baby got my seasonal allergies and all you can really do is squirt saline up their nose to loosen stuff and then suck it all out.
The Frieda tube is rigid and babies hate having their noses sucked at, so when he would thrash his head around to avoid it, it seemed like the tube would hurt the inside of his nose. My son would cry and really hate it.
This is firm but still flexible and while my son doesn’t enjoy this one it doesn’t seem like it’s hurting his nose which makes him thrash around less and makes everything easier on everyone. It can also convert from a tube you suck in to a bulb you squeeze, it’s freaking ingenious.
I’m fine sucking on it to get those boogers but grandma who is grossed out by it can pull out the tube and plug it and use it as a bulb.
It all comes apart for cleaning, though I will say it’s hard to get inside the large bulb part. It’s too small for a bottle brush but too big for a straw brush to effectively get at the sides. I kind of try with a small brush but mostly just put some hot soapy water in there, cover both openings with my hands and shake it really hard, give it a good rinse and the put it in the sterilizer. I want to buy another one so that if one is in the wash I will have one handy.

With my first child almost 3 years ago, I purchased FridaBaby Nasal Aspirator with 20 Extra Hygiene Filters. It worked a lot better than the bulb aspirators. With the bulb aspirators, you have to repeatedly use it to fully get whatever is up in the nose out. Add that to a crying baby (who hates it) and you have a stressful situation while trying to pin the baby down AND suck each nostril out several times. So when I used the Nosefrieda, just a couple of sucking actions fully got out whatever was in the nose. As a parent, I was pleased.
However, with our second child, I noticed a lot of these oral suction aspirators are now on the market. Not wanting to contaminate two babies with the same aspirator, I thought about getting another Nosefrieda for my 2nd child. But my primary complaint with the Nosefrieda (my wife agrees) is that it's hard to suck with the Nosefrieda sometimes. Especially when the mucus is thick or the nasal cavity is really congested.
With that sole complaint, I decided to go with the NeilMed Naspira. I can say without a doubt that this device is 5000x better than the Nosefrieda. My reasons are: 1. The oral sucking is MUCH EASIER with the Naspira. Not sure if it's because the tube is larger, but the suction isn't as hard with the Naspira. Easier suction means getting the mucus out without it being a laborious process. 2. Cleaning is EASIER. The Naspira disassembles in multiple parts. Typically all I have to wash is the bulb and tip and because it all comes apart, it makes it effortless. With the Nosefrieda, the chamber was 1 piece. Hard to clean because the mucus would stick to the wall of the Nosefrieda. 3. Doubles as a traditional bulb aspirator! Pull the tube out and put the cap on, you have a regular aspirator (in case you have to leave it with someone else, aka a babysitter). 4. Filters are much "better" and easily replaceable.

This is essential for an infant! When my infant had RSV and the times he has been congested, utilizing the included saline prior to using the aspirator to “suck” the mucus out of my son’s airways provided instant relief. If you’re worried about accidentally consuming your child’s snot, don’t. There is a filter in place that prevents that from happening. This aspirator is very easy to take apart to clean, sanitize, and reuse. You can buy refills of the filters and saline but this comes with enough for numerous uses. If you have a little one or know someone who is expecting, this is a necessity!

I LOVE this product. I've used the bulb suctions, Nose Frida, electric suction, and this is the best out of all of them for my toddler, in my opinion.
I didn't have to use as much suction force for it to work, which is great because I'm over 9 months pregnant and my breath control isn't what it usually is lol. With the nose Frida, I would have to use so much force that I would begin to feel light-headed. I love that there's a one-way valve that keeps you from blowing air back into baby's nose, and it just feels like a sturdy, quality product unlike the Nose Frida, which feels pretty cheap compared to it. It's also easy to clean, and you don't have to change the filter every single time you use it AS LONG AS it hasn't come into contact with any mucus.
Funny enough, I only bought this product because my daughter was sick last night and her nose was so runny, but I couldn't find our Nose Frida at homr, so I came to Amazon to order the Nose Frida, but Amazon only had one-day shipping. I saw the Naspira had same-day shipping, so I ordered it just as a temporary replacement and planned to order the nose Frida for delivery the next day because I really thought the Nose Frida was the best, especially since the Naspira costs less, so I expected it wouldn't work as good. Imagine my surprise when it actually worked BETTER! And my daughter could breathe finally and had a great night's sleep. I ended up cancelling my Nose Frida order and ordered the extra filters for the Naspira.
Long story short, I high recommend this product over any other.

I am very happy with this aspirator. Baby hates it, but it is the only one that I can extract mucous quickly and efficiently. I cleaned and sterilised it after use and it was very easy.
